Daily mandi arrivals and what they mean for your lot

4 min read
Trolleys and traders in the Kunri chilli market yard on a busy arrival day

Arrival volume is the single most visible price driver in any mandi. It is also the one growers can plan around, because arrival patterns follow the harvest and the weather, not chance.

The weekly rhythm

Arrivals peak after two or three clear drying days, and again immediately after a market holiday when held stock is released at once. Both create short windows of surplus supply where buyers bid cautiously.

How to use the pattern

If your lot is fully dried and stored safely, arriving on a lighter day is worth more than arriving first. If your lot is borderline on moisture, sell into the heavy day — the discount is smaller than the loss from another week in storage.

  • Ask for the arrival picture the evening before loading
  • Split large volumes across two or three market days
  • Keep sacks marked by lot so grading stays clean and fast

What we do on your behalf

We log every consignment by lot, present it to buyers when the yard is favourable, and report the sale honestly with weights and deductions written down. The grower sees the same numbers we do.
